Founded on the intersection of architecture and fine cabinetry.

Established in 2012 by architectural designer Elena Rossi and master joiner Julian Thorne, Artisan & Oak was born from a singular frustration: the disconnect between beautiful kitchen sketches and the technical reality of their installation.

Our ethos is rooted in Material Honesty. We believe that a bespoke kitchen should be an architectural fixture—as permanent and considered as the walls that house it. We eschew trends in favor of timeless proportions and heritage materials that patina with grace.

I. European Sustainable Oak

Sourced from managed forests in France and Germany, our timber is kiln-dried to 8% moisture to ensure zero warping after installation.

Natural stone and marble

II. Hand-Selected Natural Stone

From honed Carrara marble to deep Belgian bluestone, we visit the quarries personally to select slabs with the most architectural character.

Bespoke metal hardware

III. Precision Cast Hardware

Our handles and hinges are hand-forged in solid brass and bronze, designed to feel heavy and substantial in the hand for a lifetime.

Technical Considerations

How long does a bespoke installation take?

Most commissions require 8-12 weeks for fabrication followed by 2-3 weeks for on-site installation by our specialist team.

Do you handle structural work?

Yes. We work closely with architects to manage structural changes, flooring integration, and electrical re-routing to ensure a seamless fit-out.

Can you work with external architects?

Frequently. We act as the technical consultants and fabricators for many of Europe's leading interior design and architecture firms.
